'30 Coins' Recap: Season 1 Finale Episode 8

'30 Coins' Season 2 Episode 10 Finale

We were not expecting season 2 of 30 Coins but we still got a mind-blowing season as well as a finale to remember, with Padre Vergara rising from the dead, Laguna and Antonio shacked in a windmill, Elena escaping from Hell itself, and Merche inebriated with power, Season 2's plot exceeded the first season's in almost every aspect possible.

Season 2 of 30 Coins most famously debuted Christian Barbrow, played by Paul Giamatti. Barbrow's only desire was to wipe out all life and start over with the 30 pennies and other antiquated items. An evil strategy like this would usually fail, but not this time.

What transpired in the dramatic Season 2 finale of 30 Coins? Starting with the largest bombshells would be simple, but they're all nuclear.

According to one version of events, Laguna and his group are trying to get into the supercomputer building to stop whatever is going on from continuing to be broadcast online. Laguna's life is abruptly taken from him when the large ventilation shaft fans squirt him throughout the passageway.

To make matters worse, the entire team could not stop the supercomputer from finishing its job All in all, making the trip seem to be in vain.

Father Vergara, Paco, Elena, and Santoro travel to Nazca, Peru, where Christian Barbrow is hosting an end-of-the-world celebration, from across the globe. The insane billionaire intends to call forth God's Eye, which would obliterate reality as we know it. Yes, you read that right: Barbrow told his followers about an old alien UFO he had discovered to avoid that destiny. Everyone within this craft can survive the summons.

But not every member of Barbrow's entourage can fit into the ship. Following some violence, the throng thins down, and everyone, including Elena and the rest, who wriggle inside, finds a seat.

Vergara is attempting to stop Barbrow's UFO from taking off from the outside, which is made possible by the Supercomputer's ability to obtain what Barbrow wants and the spell that is required to be read from an evil book, talk about black magic.

Barbrow uses the Eye of God to enter a new universe and flee the old one, destroying everything in their path despite all efforts to stop them. When Santoro betrays Merche and receives the famous Judas coin to survive the journey, Elena and Paco barely make it out alive by donning vintage dive suits.

Upon discovering Vergara defeated, Lucifer instructs him to pursue Barbrow rather than becoming enraged. As a result, the undead priest takes a shortcut to a whole different universe, where he finds Pedraza full of life, even though its residents are very different from his own. What's changed most noticeably? Vergara and Elena appear to be guiding Pedraza together, though.

What to expect if HBO goes for a third season of 30 Coins:

Just like we waited unknowingly for 30 coins to be renewed for a second season, as of right now, there is no Season 3 renewal for 30 Coins. HBO viewers would be making a grave mistake if they decided not to place additional episode orders since the show will surely end on unanswered cliffhangers ever. Considering how absurd the last season was, it's hard to predict what will happen to the plot going forward. The creative team exudes confidence and appears capable of exploring any direction they choose.
