'Midnight Mass' Recap: Season 1 Finale Episode 7

The finale of Midnight Mass pulled out all the stops in the book with this crazy town. The now blood-thirsty vampires, Miss Keane and Sturge go about the island, pulling people out of their houses, biting them, and sucking blood from them.

Fire is thrown into Erin's house by Sturge and Miss Keane, calling Erin out of the house. With Erin in the house and Sarah, Leeza, Warren, Sheriff Hassan, Ali, Annie, and a few others take refuge there for a while.

Annie goes out to have a word with Miss Keane, at least that buys them time. Annie had a lot to say to Miss Keane, amongst which was God doesn't love you more than anyone.
Annie slits her throat in an attempt to keep them with her for a while and Miss Keane and Sturge did not hesitate to drink her blood.

Father Paul and Mildred hold hands and talk in church. He tells Sarah that he did all he did because of Mildred and Sarah and that he didn't want her to die. Sarah was their daughter. He said to Mildred, if she had said to leave, he'd have taken his collar off and gone to anywhere in the world with her. Paul talks about getting a second chance to start a family with Sarah and Mildred. He said that'd be a miracle.

While Sheriff shot at one of Warren's friends, the vampire came and carried a girl. Although he was being shot at, the bullet had no effect.
Wade who is now also a vampire, tried to reach out to Leeza but she's held back by Erin and Warren. Erin tells them both to run.

Sturge tells Miss Keane that they need to put out the fire since it's spreading but Miss Keane thinks otherwise as regards putting the fire out. She chooses to 'let it all burn.' I wonder how they would do with blood supply if they kill everyone with blood, well move to another town I suppose.

In a bid to escape, Leeza and Warren goes into Joe's house and picked up his gun, and a few bullets in a bid to buy a few minutes when necessary.

Annie was able to meet up with Ed for a while, and they talked. He advised her not to change who she is. Meanwhile, Keane and Sturge continue to wreak havoc, they burned other buildings down.

Sarah and Erin talk to each other about the kids, afterwards they pour petrol on the boats and set them on fire in other for the turned vampires to have no means of escaping and causing more havoc.

Miss Keane came to Father Paul and after she said all she had to, Father Paul acknowledged that he was wrong as well as Miss Keane but she refused.

Father Paul walked into the church and he sees Sarah pouring petrol all over. He tells her that he's proud of her and he apologized. Amidst that moment, Sarah got shot in other to stop her from lighting the fire in the church.

Paul tried to save her by feeding his blood to her but she spits it out. Mildred is in tears upon seeing Sarah breathing her last. Paul carries Sarah out and Mildred drops the candle on the ground. The church is finally in flames.

Hassan tries to burn down the last building, which is Father Paul's house, but he gets shot in the leg. Erin came up to complete the task but the winged vampire carried her out to launch on her.
Ali appears from a corner and disregarded Miss Keane's plea to not throw the fire into the house. He threw the lighter in, and the house was up in flames.

There's nowhere else to stay as all the buildings were up in flames. The whole of Crockett island was on fire. They knew that once the sun comes out, they're all done.

As the spooky series comes to an end, after feeding on Erin, the vampire flew away with a little difficulty. We know he'd not fly far due to the holes in his wings. Erin spent her last minutes remembering the conversation she had with Riley on what would happen when they die. It brought her peace.

Ali and his Dad say their prayers and on the other hand, Father Paul and Mildred take Sarah's body to her favorite place. He also threw his collar into the water while they were on the bridge.

Warren and Leeza made it out, they were in the middle of the water, stared at the island they grew up in, in flames.

Meanwhile, Miss Keane was at the shore, looking distressed and in tears as she tries digging up the ground.

Back on the island, the remaining inhabitants turned vampires, joined in on the hymns.
Father Paul asks for forgiveness from Mildred. She forgives him and they shared a kiss.

At sunrise, Miss Keane and everyone else on the island got burnt and in the end, only Warren and Leeza are safe. Leeza takes Warren's hand in hers, she can't feel her legs.
