'30 Coins' Recap: Season 1 Episode 6

After the shocking revelations of episode 4, yes! Vergara was friends with Santaro the eminence. They were 3 friends, Vergara, Sandro, and Santaro in seminary school learning to become priests before Santaro sold his soul in the pursuit of the course of Judas's Gospel.

Episode 5 came with another dramatic twist, while Santaro held Vergara in Roma in the bid to convince him to join the cult, Elena got an early Christmas gift, her plans to go to Paris with Roque was delayed because Mario her missing husband returned.

Jesus unintentionally killed Elena's husband thinking it was an animal 2 years ago and buried his body. Mario came back because a witch brought him back using a scarecrow. The reunion for Elena and Mario was both questionable and bloody. Everyone in the town had lots of questions to ask about his return with little answers.

Jesus felt they were trying to drive him crazy, he already killed the man and this time had all the intention to kill him again but was stopped by Laguna when he entered the streets shooting. Elena on the other hand was emotional that her husband was back.

Steamy sex scenes to rekindle their love and the years they lost, Elena was willing to leave the town with Mario the moment he asked. Their drive out of the city was the twist, to get the location of the coin Mario was willing to do anything, beat her, and throw both of them into the dam where she threw the ring.

Paco and Laguna confirmed Jesus's story that he killed Mario and was able to rescue Elena before Mario dragged both of them down. This time Elena made sure she killed him properly, kicking his head while Laguna and Paco held her hands. Mario had his head splattered everywhere before he died.

Vergara escaped Santaro but not Sandro, he died with his intestines squashed while trying to save Vergara. Another escape was the coin from the dam Elena threw it. While Roque was in a Japanese restaurant, the fish he was served had the same coin Elena had once shown him in it. That fish was shipped from Pedraza to Japan.

This week on 30 Coins, Vergara escaped Rome to Syria to hide from Santaro and his people but that wouldn't stop them, he was watching himself in the Vatican with the Pope side by side at the ecumenical meeting. 

At the same time, Elena called him trying to get his location, she cannot continue to do this on her own. Vergara was on the verge of telling her his exact location when she mentions Sandro to him, she was not the one he was talking to. Santaro had manipulated her voice to try to get his location after their bloody encounter in the previous episode.

Vergara might have found a way to warn Elena after speaking with Father Lombardi, he can talk to her through the world of dreams. This way Santaro cannot find him.

Through the World of Dreams, Vergara spoke with Elena at Pedraza supermarket. She has to protect the coin with her life, they are coming for her. Elena told him she separated herself from the coin, it was disturbing her.
The dream lasted enough for Santaro to also appear in it. He is coming for her just as Vergara said they would.

Vergara's stay in Syria is not as easy as he thought it would be, the Syrian army arrested him for carrying a cross in their town. Vergara has the choice to pick up a gun and first for them or be beheaded for being a spy.

Back in Pedraza, Merche continues to push Paco to greater heights, a podium Paco would rather not be on. She planned a party for him to address the people after 3 years as their Mayor. This time Paco tried to tell her his displeasure with all of this.

He never wanted to be Mayor, she made him now he goes about greeting people and smiling. Merche still insists she is doing all of this for them, it is work and he needs to stop complaining. Paco tried to tell her what he really wanted to say about their marriage but has a lump in his throat.

Two female superintendents from Madrid Maria and Cristina were sent by the Secretary of State Security to oversee the affairs in Pedraza. They take over the investigations of what has been happening and Laguna has to provide them with all they need.

Their first stop is Jesus for breaching public peace and just shooting in the street. To keep the secrets of the town, Laguna had told him what to say, he cannot say he killed a man and he came back after two years.
When Maria and Cristina come to question him, the thought of keeping this secret and looking crazy drove Jesus to shoot himself before they could ask any questions.

Rosario might have been grieving at her husband’s funeral when she attacked Paco for causing this, he made him crazy when he came to accuse him. Her points about Jesus being crazy are not far fetched, the whole town feels apprehensive with the new happenings.

Paco finally told Merche how he felt, it’s just the company between them. Merche knows he wants to leave her so he can be with Elena, he should go, she already left him. Paco left the house to a hotel that night and tried to call Elena the same time Elena was having sex with Roque in a hotel in Paris.

Maria and Cristina interview Paco concerning his relationship with Elena and Jesus's death. Meanwhile, Elena is on a fancy date with Roque in Paris. The same restaurant Lagrange got a man with the charm to come too.

Roque the evening was going so well for them until Roque brought out a box for Elena with a story attached to it. He was at a restaurant in Japan when the fish that was to be served had the same coin that she showed him.

Elena opened the box and became frantic. She ran into the restroom to quickly call Paco about the same coin. While she is there, the man with the medallion entered, he killed Roque and the waiter before he was stopped by the security guard. He cut the chain on his neck bringing an end to the man's mission. Elena got the coin back but lost Roque that night. 

Maria and Cristina questioned Antonio after they heard him shouting in the streets about the new priest that is on his way. Antonia gave them every detail of what has been happening in the town since the first episode, the child that was born by a cow, the girl that disappeared, Vergara's reflection that got Elena's clinic burnt, the scarecrow that was used to make Mario.

They do not know whether or not to believe all he has said but still followed him as he continued shouting the priest is here. Maria and Cristina met Angelo the priest that night, he was sent by the Bishop in Segovia.
