It is going to be a beautiful day on today's episode of on Halifax Retribution or at least that's what he told Jane in his phone call to her last week's episode. That's the same thing he tells the security officer of Southbank Security he has tied up and gagged in his house before taking his van and uniform to work. Jarrod has something big planned for the city of Melbourne is about to find out why today would be a beautiful day.
Jarrod was able to get access to the warehouse where Methyl Isocyanatec chemicals are kept after he killed the security guy at the gate to stop him from checking Jarrod's ID with the system. Jarrod took the chemicals to the dock and placed a bomb on it.
Jane woke up that morning from a nightmare she was having of the night Ben was killed and the blood splatter on her face to a staring Zoe. Zoe did not mean to scare her, she just needs to stay here for a few days till she sorts out herself. Jane is happy she is here, she can stay as long as she wants.
At the Tasks Force, Nick informs Jane there is no digital trace of Jarrod Bungert, it's like he never existed. Nick is also puzzled by what Jarrod meant in his last phone by today is going to be a beautiful day? Jane thinks he knows they are closing in on him and he is trying to wrestle back control and he would do something more drastic as a result they look into the things Jarrod had been angry about and his manifesto again. After she led Nick on the part to figuring out Jarrod, Jane watches as Mandy plays through her interview with Bronski. First, Mandy narcissistically says she should call Jane so she can ask her if she had daddy issues as a child, she would figure everything out like a puzzle. Then she denies contacting Jimmy, she went to the Laundry Mart to get washing powder from the machine. Bronski tells her they can charge her for conspiracy to commit murder just by the text on her phone making Mandy end the interview with the call for her lawyer.
Jane gets a call from Zoe after watching Mandy Mandy's interview with Bronski might have gotten a little out of Jane. When Zoe calls her asking for what to do because Mandy called to see her, Jane snaps. she shouldn’t call her back she would just manipulate her because she lets her too. Jane quickly realized how her words would have affected Zoe so she apologized to her.
Looking through Jarrod's manifesto as well as the fact he killed his brother, Jane and Nick realize Jarrod had an abusive father that died from cancer after being exposed to harmful chemicals. That's Jarrod's crusade against these companies began from.
Nick and Erin attend to the situation with the security man Jarrod had impersonated, he explains to them how Jarrod tied him before leaving with his van. The Tasks force immediately head to the docks.
Mandy’s lawyer comes and Mandy acts in her narcissistic way trying to talk her way out of anything but Bronski likes a good challenge. Mandy gave an elaborate detail of how she got the money to order the hit, Ben tried to pay her off from seeing him and Zoe but ended up paying for his own hit, she did not mean to set the attack on Jane, she only did it to scare her.
Jane had heard enough watching through the cameras so she goes in to talk to Mandy about being a narcissist. Jane easily figured her out, it was not difficult, Ben and Zoe were only characters in her own world while she was the villain but Jane can see her clearly.
Back at the dockyard, Jarrod calls Jane as the Tasks force arrive to report himself, he had to take it to the next step since people would not listen, she would see before setting the timer for 30 seconds and every 30 seconds he needs to restart the timer or the chemicals would go off causing the entire city of Melbourne to be inhabitable for the next 5 years if the blast gets into the water.
Jane asks Nick to let her go meet Jarrod after he set a second chair, that was all she needed to know he wanted her to come. Nick would not let her, he cannot be the one to explain o her family what had happened to her if anything happens.
Jane calls the only family she has Zoe to apologize for everything and to say she loves her but it is a voicemail because Zoe was asleep when she called. When Zoe got the message, Jane was already seated facing Jarrod by the chemicals and against Nick's orders. She immediately left the house to the dockyard demanding to get through. Bronski let her through on this circumstance.
Zoe is not the only surprised guest at the docks, Tom also left his hospital bed to come down for the final showdown with Jarrod. Unlike Nick, Tom does not tell Jane to come back rather he told her to leave her phone open so they can listen in on the conversation.
Jarrod immediately restarted the timer when he saw Jane walking to him then he had to do a search for wires and found nothing. The moment of meeting Jane Halifax in person was so glorious that Jarrod had to shoot Kip hovering drone to stop the noise.
Jane has been trying to understand what is going on, she has read his manifesto but cannot understand how the shootings fit into anything she had read. Jarrod says the people are all being sold a lie by the government concerning surveillance cameras, we all need to make sacrifices.
Jarrod has a well laid down plan and is not bothered that people would see him as a mad man, they would have to talk about what he did here today and look into the issues he raised when they evacuate everyone out of the city, he intends to recreate the Bhopal Gas tragedy disaster of 1984 in India, tones of thousands were killed.
In a bid to get into his head, Jane brings up the abuse he suffered from his father, that's why all his victims were males, Amy was a mistake as well as Tony. Jarrod is sorry about Amy but Tony brought her death upon herself, he tried to wake them up but they still wouldn’t wake me up.
Jarrod has a request from Jane, he wants her to tell his story because he thinks she cares. Jane would only tell his story if he stops all of this from happening. Things get heated when Jane turns down his request and boldly tells Jarrod to kill her, he does not care about anyone living.
Meanwhile, Tom and the task force had been monitoring the conversation with Jane and Jarrod, the timer is always set for 30 seconds so Jane was ready for them to take the shot when she told Jarrod she was sorry. The sniper gets Jarrod directly in his head and the blood splatter got to Jane again just like it did when Ben was killed.
With the help of Tom calling on Jane to use his thumb, Jane got out of the shock of watching Jarrod get shot in front of her to restart the timer.
Jane and Zoe mend their relationship when Jane reunites with Zoe at the dock, she got her message and she came to tell her she is sorry too and she loves her.
Jane has been making the news after the incident at the dockyard with Jarrod but that's not to deter Jane and Zoe from sipping wine. Jane got Zoe plane tickets to Nashville so she can go deliver her dad’s guitar. She on the other hand would be taking a trip to Spain to give herself time to heal.
