'Battleground' Recap: Season 2 Episode 125

 

Today in Battleground. Emeka informs Teni and Adaora that Kolade was at the hospital yesterday, they brought him in because they thought he was having a heart attack. Adaora knows Kolade was faking it, Emeka should call the police, she does not care what happens to him. Teni also says she does not care what happens to her dad with a little bit of hesitation, she just wants Ola to come back home.

Koko and Oye are having breakfast when Koko asks her about Tes, he did not come home last night. Oye tells her what she did, she was so angry and she poisoned him. Koko cannot believe she would do something like this, how did they get here? Oye does not know how they got here but they are done.

Emeka comes to see Kolade, he wants him to put him in a coma but Emeka would not do it, no amount of money can make him do it, he would not risk losing his medical practice. Emeka is about to leave the room when he asks Kolade if he knows his mother is back in town? Kolade knows his mother is dead and if he claims he saw her then he should check himself into the hospital. Emeka asks Kolade if he hurt his mother and Kolade replies that information would cost him, he knows anytime he looks at him he sees a man desperate to save his life but this time he is doing it for his family for the sake of Teni.

Teni angrily goes to confront Anu about the game she is playing, she knows she is the one that told Oye about the affair, what did she do to her? Anu tells her she did not do anything to her, actions have consequences, she did not think she would get away with it? Teni does not want to have anything to do with her, their partnership is over she would be hearing from her lawyers.

Ire informs her detectives she needs to talk to Emeka, she wants to make him understand that Kolade must not die. The detectives have not seen her this worried and Ire says it is the importance of the case, they need Kolade to answer for his crimes but that is not the case, Ire is worried because she caused it, Okiemute has been saying they would sue her for attempted manslaughter or manslaughter if he does not make it. 

Evander is waiting in the reception when Okiemute enters and informs him how it happened, Ire slapped Chief. Evander wants to go see his client but Okiemute stops him first to tell him he set him up as bait. Evander does not deny it, what did he think would happen when he offered?

Populous meet, they are upset that they were thrown out of their building, something that has never happened in the history of the club. Ida says they would not go back to the past, she would get the building back. The men agree that they would give a period of 3 months so Ida can resolve it but if it doesn't work they would go back to their old ways where the police knew better than to touch their building. Ida says her method would work but if it doesn't then they would go back to the old ways.

Okiemute goes to see Emeka if Kolade is awake. He knows Kolade has asked him for something and wants to know what it is he asked him to do. Emeka tells him Chief Kolade wants him to fake his death so he can escape, he wants to do it for the sake of the family, it is the right thing to do. Okiemute tells him before he makes any decision it is only fair that he knows all the facts, that man killed his father.

Oye is drinking in her house when Teni comes to see her, Oye cannot believe she would have the audacity to show up in her house. Teni is so sorry but Oye is not having it, she is evil, she made her believe she was her friend when she was sleeping with her husband the whole time. Teni tries to apologize, she did not mean to hurt her, she regrets everything that happened. She is only sorry that she got caught she should get out of her house.

Emeka goes to see Kolade, he informs him of his decision to go through with the plan, he would do it for the sake of the family.

Ida is toasting to peace when Hadiza comes to the meeting uninvited, she immediately knows Hadiza has done something. Hadiza says she would only know when she touches her plate. Ida figures that the tea is poisoned, admitting her into Populous was a mistake she knew she would not live to regret. Ida says she did not see her coming, she underestimated her. Hadiza tells her she has heard how populous was strong, starting wars, picking governors, killing whoever got in their way, Ida is not fit to be prime. 

Ida has a lot of words for Hadiza, she was there when the last prime died her husband, how he felt knowing she had betrayed him but she would find out now. When she drinks the entire tea she tells Hadiza only she who is brave would look the devil in his face and tell her she is the devil, she Hadiza is the devil. He who asked for war must come prepared but she is not prepared for what is coming to her, she is just a little girl trying to be heard,  she would not have the last word for her death. Hadiza tells Ida she talks too much, she should give in already.

The moment Ida dies then the men in the club realize what is going on like they were all in a trance. Hadiza takes the ring from Ida's finger then she says she is prime.
