'30 Coins' Recap: Season 1 Finale Episode 8

'Between Two Worlds' Recap: Season 1 Episode 10 Series Finale

The finale of Between Two Worlds began with a wedding. Bart and Georgia got married on the top of the cliff with two witnesses and a judge. Their vows are simple yet Bart missed the phrase ‘lawful wedded wife’ for fear of being too possessive. Georgia spots the missing phrase and makes him say it again, he can be as possessive as he wants. This blatant rebel against Philip showed Georgia how much Bart truly loves her.

The Sunday lunch immediately turned a disaster when Bart informed his parents he and Georgia were married. Philip gets really upset, yelling at the fact he was about to give his blessing only to hear this. Georgia also has a lot to say back at Philip, if she says nothing about it he would call her weak if she says something he would still discredit her, she has to stand up to him because he cannot change what is already done. Philip has never had anyone talk to him like that but Georgia can and Bart loves her tenacity even more. Cate tries to be the leveling ground here, getting everyone to calm down but Philip continues to yell, they would begin the annulment tomorrow and she would be well compensated, he even brings up the video of Georgia with two men and Bart is ready to tell everyone how he used the video to force Gareth into bankruptcy and drove him to kill himself. Cate did not know about this and cannot believe Philip would go that length.  If he is going to use their son’s wife’s bad call of judgment against her, it makes him no different than the men that have used her in her life. Cate assures Georgia she would get the memory stick for her and if she cannot make Philip come around they would have a private party to celebrate.

Before Bart and Georgia leave, he announced to the guests he and Georgia got married on their way here and he would be giving Jane the scoop but that wouldn’t be at the office as he would be clearing out his desk.
Georgia assures Cate she would be a good wife to Bart and Cate doesn’t doubt that.

When the love birds leave, to clear the awkwardness, Philip says no family is without drama so lunch can continue before asking David to borrow his fiancee for a moment.
Sandra overheard Philip and Sophia talking by the corner. He needs her support in all of this the moment she placed her arm on Danny’s heart was so profound. Sandra’s guilt would make her turn the course on Cate’s plans.
Rebecca packed her bags ready to leave. They are done with the sell and she would want to leave to somewhere private like rehab, the strict ones where no phones are allowed. Mikael isn’t first convinced but comes around when Rebecca says she would not try to help Welles, Georgia opened her eyes to things she tried to ignore, a hell that Welles pushed her to all these years, he is in hell now so it is up to God. Mikael allows her to go based on his instincts but would kill her if she tries anything funny. Rebecca moves over to him with a kiss on his lips as she tells him he is the man she knows would protect her daughter, hurt her, and she would kill him.

The lunch is over but left everyone with an opinion about rich people, Bella rides with Mark and Martina while Sophia rides with David.
Before David starts the ride, he tells Sophia he would listen when she is ready to say what she is hiding from him. Sophia made a promise not to tell and a promise is a promise.
Meanwhile, Sandra is worried this plan with Cate would blow up now Philip told Sophia he has Danny’s heart. She tells Cate Sophia has a transplant therapist that she might ask to look into all of this. Cate hopes things would not get to that point.

Philip goes over Jane’s report before it hits the press and gives a diplomatic quote for Bart’s decision to support Georgia in the wake of all that is being said about her. Let them read between those lines as he walks off.
Philip handed Cate the memory stick as he agreed too and informed Cate it was all Georgia’s idea to make the video. Cate wouldn’t blame the girl for her disorganized sexual preferences. Philip doesn’t want her in the family as much as Cate doesn’t and hopes this wouldn’t ruin their new closeness but if it does then it does. Cate just wants her son and Philip says she would have him just a disinherited version. He has a new will to write.
Cate places the stick with the diaries of Bart’s birth before locking it up again.

Georgia and Bart break the news of their marriage to Mikael and he did not see that one coming. He hands Georgia a note from her mother before she left for rehab.
Georgia reads the note and tells Bart she was so mean to her like she hated her. Rebecca would have been the happiest to hear the news. Bart is sure they are happy nothing else matters. Georgia asks him to go run them a bath while she talks to Mikael about how her mum was when she left. Bart is getting wry of their closeness and informs Georgia he would ask him to leave.
Bart meets Mikael in the kitchen, he can leave they wouldn’t be needing him anymore. Mikael reminds him of the press but Bart can manage now he has been fired. Mikael tries to get him to think rationally about this but Bart says he is being pushy, he should leave his invoice on the way out.
Mikael informs Georgia of his matching order and she tells him she would need him. Mikael gives her a stern command, he has invested so much in this so she should get him back.
Sophia tells David the only thing that might threaten them is him feeling threatened when he drops her at the house. She can not tell him what it is because it is not a trivial promise she wants to remember today for their engagement. David wants that too, he loves her but this promise she has to keep from him is unsettling.
Bella, Martina, and Mark went to the place Danny's ash was scattered Martina comes there every day hoping to connect with Danny. The lunch today was about Danny and she liked it but cannot do this anymore, she wants to go to Europe to get away from all of this. Bella is supportive, they can understand what she is going through and are here for her. Mark also goes with what Bella said, if she has to go, she has to go. Mark might be developing feelings for Bella after all.

Bart and Georgia are in the bathtub together but Bart wouldn’t fully get into the honeymoon mood until he hears Mikael leave, when he hears the door bang only then does he fully respond to Georgia’s kisses.
Mikael was heading for the exist when he finds a letter at the entrance.
It is a threatening note to Georgia and Bart isn’t buying it, how convenient he got this on his way out. Mikael thinks someone must have followed them back. Bart doesn’t buy the words in the note so Mikael heads for the door, he has done his own part. Bart is glad to be getting rid of him.

Georgia followed Mikael to the door to ask if it for real? Mikael claims he did not send it so she begs him to stay, she would make it worth his while. Mikael knows Bart loves her so much if not he would have seen through her already, she needs him to make sure he doesn’t. Bart comes to see them when Mikael leaves the door.
Mark took Bella home, he loved their afternoon and is looking forward to the play. Bella was not expecting him to offer to come to pick her or the peck on the cheek, it is all new to her having someone like her. Mark loved how she treated Martina today, he also goes to the place where the ashes were scattered. Bella knows, she saw him seated there ones. Mark says she would have stayed, the next time she goes they would go together.
Georgia has genuine concerns about the later, what if it wasn’t Mikael? Bart is sure it was him that wrote the letter.
Bella changed her music today after the way Mark left, she is in a good mood. While Sophia is appreciating the music, Sandra calls her to come to the Walford house.
They need her to help talk to Philip about writing Bart off. Sandra knows he has reasons to be concerned about Georgia but it’s not good enough to write Bart off. Sophia does not know how she feels about this much being placed on her Sandra is able to convince her to talk to Philip.
It was Cate’s idea to call Sophia, desperate times call for desperate measures. Cate seems to conveniently use people to solve her issues. She uses the men to get over Philip's tyranny, Sandra to talk to Philip now Sophia to get him to soften up.
Philip is glad Sophia came, Sandra made the right decision to call her. Sophia suggests Philip should keep an eye on Georgia, if she is genuine then Bart is lucky but if she is not then he is vulnerable, better to have them close. Philip wouldn’t do that, Bart defiled him. Sophia tells him they are the parents, it is their duty to be strong for their children if it were her she would stay strong, that’s something she is sure he is capable of it.

Mikael suspiciously watches the newlyweds enjoy their night alone in the house.
Philip and Sandra walk Sophia to the car. Sophia asks Philip for permission to tell David, their secret is causing tension for them. Philip thinks if he is a strong man he would be able to handle it but Sophia says it is not a matter of strength, he is watching her create a bond with another man. Philip agrees for her to tell David if she is sure it would be just four of them aware of the secret.
After Sophia left, Philip went to Cate to ask for the memory stick, he would like to deliver it himself. He tells Cate that he remembered to keep your friends close and your enemies closer that is the reason for the change of heart and not the fact that Sophia convinced him too.

Martina stopped by the Greys to ask Bella for a favor. She needed to be in Danny's room one more time. Martina did not want to be in the house when Sophia was in after what she did the last time. Bella assures her Sophia understands and the fact that she too has seen Danny a couple of times when Martina told her she saw Danny that night she tried to kill herself. Martina came to the house to say her last goodbye, she would never forget Danny but she has to move on.
Sophia told David about Philip having Danny’s heart when he came to drop Carrie at the daycare. David thinks all of this is strange, starting up a foundation just to get close to her. Sophia sees the benefit for them, it is Danny’s transplant foundation she cannot back out now.
Philip kept his word and went down to hand Bart the drive personally, they should consider this a wedding gift, he is willing to accept their union. Georgia asks him to have their place ready, they would move back in after their honeymoon, another one of Georgia's boldness.
Sandra left the Walford house with a note for Philip apologizing that she had to leave for their own good.

Bella took a letter from the transplant people to Sophia at the daycare, it was delivered to them. She cannot stay but shares her good news with her, Mark asked her on a date next Friday.
Sophia sees the note and wears an apprehensive look immediately.
Philip and Cate are sitting at the dining table, he is doing all of this for her to get Bart back, keeping your enemy closer.
Meanwhile, Bart and Georgia are at the backyard having a toast to finally getting Philip to come around. Mikael has a sniper aimed at the Bart.

Sophia showed David the later, the person with Danny’s heart reached out to her. He thinks he might be with her son’s heart and his heart has helped him see his children grow. Sophia cannot believe Philip would lie about something like this. David suggests she calls him about it.
Her call comes in when Cate is telling Philip she hopes this would not change them. It is the same time Mikael pulls the trigger.

What would have looked like a cut straight first season ended on so many cliffhangers that a season 2 is most needed to answer these questions?
Is Philip not with Danny’s heart as we all suspected? The two-finger salute and Sophia’s appearance in Philip's dream was it all something Philip got watching the television or did the letter get a wrong address?
Did Mikael shoot Bart or just scare tactics to get his job back?
We definitely need a season two to get these answers.
