'Tyler Perry The Oval' Recap: Season 1 Episode 19

Tonight on the Oval. Nancy cannot believe what her son just said to her, he just admitted to killing Ruth. Barry did that since that’s what she wanted to hear, he tells her he did not kill Ruth she wouldn’t believe him when he admits to killing her she would not believe him either, where is the lie? Nancy slaps Barry for playing with her, he should go on to tell her the real truth. Barry insists he did not kill Ruth, he did not see her that night. Nancy is beyond done with her son after the conversation they have inside Jake’s office. Barry has been angry with her for letting Ruth see Kelly even when he asked her not to. Nancy on the other hand is disappointed with the man Barry is now. When he is ready to be a man and needs her he knows where to find her.

Sam is up early to go to work but Priscilla wants to lay in bed all day, They should just take the day off work and say it’s a matter of national security. As tempting as that sounds because it’s been 3weeks since they last had sex, Sam still insists they go to work, he is not breaking the rules. Priscilla had forgotten and blames it on the stress they are having at work. They just moved the old President and the new one just got in. Sam understands but he needs her. Priscilla makes having sex with her husband look like a chore when she asks how much time they have, he should get in. Sam doesn’t want that, he is principled to the T. They have to go to work.

Kareem and Sharon spent the night together at the pharmacy, the call from the glass company woke them up. Sharon suggests that she stays while Kareem goes to take a shower, she would be fine.
Victoria enters the room just when Hunter is polling up the old mattress. She did not think he could do it. Even though Victoria is helping Hunter clean his mess he keeps taking jabs at her and this time is no exception.

Nancy returns back to Richard to find him giving the nurse a hard time because he feels fine and wants to go home.
When the nurse leaves, Richard asks how is Barry, did she talk to him? Nancy deflects, he is fine he shouldn’t worry about him. Nancy tells Richard the reason Barry ran the truck into the store, he saw Sharon and Kareem having sex. Richard understands his son, which explains why he did it. Nancy claims that’s no excuse, he knows better. {Tyler Perry has a fine way of creating overly righteous characters, Nancy is a lot like Hanna Young in The Haves and the Have Nots, another Tyler Perry series. The similarities between Hanna and Nancy are uncanny}
Sam flirts with Priscilla in the kitchen, he was serious about sex so it’s going done tonight. While they are together, Victoria walks in. Sam apologizes then leaves. Victoria sarcastically tells Priscilla she knows not to be flirting with secret service and he is married. Priscilla reminds her he is married to her, they have never done this before he was just being silly.

Don goes early to the resident to see Hunter but meets Victoria instead. She first asks if he has met her parents or talked to them? Don says he has seen them ones or twice. Victoria doesn’t like Don, she doesn’t trust him that might be because he sleeps with men and is too afraid to come out. Don does not say anything. Victoria tells Don not to trust her husband with issues that involve national security, trade, or war rather he should come to her. Don politely says she does not have that clearance. Victoria has more than that, she knows he is gay and would use that against him if he does not do as she asked. In fact, she wants Hunter’s own copy she can assure him Hunter would not read it. Yes ma’am. Before Don leaves, Victoria tells him he should just come out.

Jake gets information from the D.A that they can’t hold Barry for the accidental murder charge. The gun belongs to his cousin Picky and if Barry says he took his car then they have nothing. Concerning Ruth Hartman, that too would not hold because it’s just animal blood on the weapon, the woman in question is not Ruth, it is some other lady from Ohio. So he better get a confession from him or the Judge would just grant him bail for the pharmacy incident. Barry has no priors.

Sam gets a call from Jake informing him of the developments in Barry’s case. If Barry says Picky took his car that day he is cleared and the bloodstain was animal blood, the lady was not Ruth. Jake tells Sam If he can get Kareem to drop the charges then Barry can walk even at that the D.A would not challenge bail.

Sharon returns back to the pharmacy after a long shower at Kareem’s place. He is about to lean in for a kiss but Sharon moves back. Kareem gets upset, they are back to being mad at each other. Sharon tries to tell him a lot has been going on but Kareem already knows that the glass company just gave him an estimate for the lot that has been going on. He intends to sue Barry for this. Sharon defends Barry, he does not have any money. Kareem says otherwise, Barry has been selling drugs for Picky. Sharon does not believe Barry is that kind of person he even said the same thing about him. Kareem reminds Sharon he is legit it is Barry that is dirty. He saw him deliver drugs to his cousin’s party.
Don is pacing back and forth in his office when Kyle enters. Don is upset about his conversation with Victoria, imagine her saying he should come out. She wants to be briefed about everything. Kyle tells him to go ahead and do it, she wants to have a bit of power he should give her something. While they are talking about the mattress, the alarms go off. Kyle has to go to the tenth floor, he should stay put and lock the door.

Sam heads to the First Lady. She needs to come with him. Victoria cannot leave that spot, not with the mattress in there so she tells Sam she is busy, she cannot move. Sam firmly tells her he would carry her if she does not move so Victoria goes with him.
Jake opens the cell for Barry to come out. In the interrogation room, Jake asks Barry how he got all that money they found in his house? Barry says the money is not his. Jake is doing Sam a favor so he tells Barry the judge granted him he can use the money to process his bail. Before Barry leaves he makes Barry confirm Picky borrowed his car, they can’t charge a dead man for murder.
Sam is with Victoria while they wait for clearance. Kyle on the other hand is with Hunter and informs Hunter some assailants breached security. Victoria gets worried the moment she is informed they would sweep their rooms and check their personal belongings.
Max did the sweep in the President’s room and found blood under the rug.
