'Brethren' Recap: Season 1 Episode 170


Today in Brethren. The governor and the COP give a press briefing to the people of Lagos state. where he lies that the SCU just informed him that the real face is alive and out there. It is clear that the SCU was only trying to save face in their claim that they had captured the terrorist.
Bara is at home when he sees the briefing and is astonished at what the governor says. DP and Amira also watch the briefing and cannot believe the amount of lies Olukoya is willing to tell to cover up his tracks.
Mummy T and her boys return to BHB with Shade. Tina is really happy with the outing today and would like for this to be a constant occurrence. They also took pictures of their day. While Tina is looking through the pictures, Orokele calls Shade, his laundry is piling up and he needs it cleaned. Shade tells him they have been able to clear a quarter they are working to clear the rest. Orokele is not okay with this. He then asks her of her mother, his prayer is that the slackness of her daughter does not affect her. Shade gets the message and immediately calls her mother's line but it is unavailable.
Kofo suggests that Kemi goes to BHB to stay for a while until this whole thing clears. Kemi can do that, she really wants to leave because of the thugs that have been following her. Kofo is there for her, everything would be alright.
The SCU watches the video of Olukoya throwing the SCU under the bus and they are all upset. Bassey knows it was the SCID that did this not them. This has Iwara written all over it. Fiona reminds them that they have a video of Iwara admitting they knew the whereabouts of the face, they can release the video. Bassey and Jo tell her they cannot do that officially. Fiona does not mean they should do that officially. Bassey tells her they cannot leak the video either, if he was still in charge he would have approved but Bara would not approve. To think Bara smoked the rat early and none of them supported him. Bassey decides to call Bara but his number is unavailable.
Kemi took her things to BHB to stay for a while. When Tina asks where she has been, Kemi lies, her house was flooded, she left the tap running. Kemi asks her if it would be okay for her to stay in BHB for a while and Mummy T is okay with it. This way they can all work together to plan the fundraiser.
After Tina leaves, Kemi asks Shade how do you know you are in love with the right person? Shade knows she is referring to Kofo and tells her Kofo is just a street boy that is up to no good. Kemi reminds her he is not a street boy we all have our pasts and she is sure she has hers.
After Kemi leaves, Shade calls her mother and this time she picks up.
The doctor suggests to Cynthia that she moves her father to a familiar environment to help in his recovery. The doctor wants her to move him to her house that way he would be around his children and grandchildren and it would help him tremendously.
The Boys at BHB are cleaning the entire place in preparation for the important people that would be coming to BHB today. Mummy T comes in and is happy with the work and appreciates Shade for being on top of things.
Jo called Fiona to come to the house so they can go to work together. While Jo is looking for the phone she informs Fiona about Bassey's daughter. Fiona is surprised about this. Jo says who knows how many more children he has out there.
Kofo goes to a phone boot to get a recharge card. He calls Bara to ask of the money he promised him but Bara says nothing. While he is thinking of what to do, he overhears the lady selling recharge cards tell someone that she wants to sell her laptop and she would sell it for nothing less than 40 thousand naira. At that point, Kofo gets the brilliant idea to steal the laptop and get on a waiting bike. The bike man would not move, giving the boys on the street enough time to get to Kofo beat him up and collect the laptop back. Kofo is able to run away.
Bara goes to see Dag in his house. Dag wants him to join him to eat. While they are eating, Bara tells him he has been trying to reach their dad but it's not been going through. Dag claims he has not been able to reach him too but asks his brother what is going on? Bara looks at his brother to tell him the less he knows the better for him, it is for his own safety. Dag does not like what he is thinking.
Tina cannot understand why any of the donors are not here by now. She is sharing her frustration with Tina when the boys come in to tell her they have been standing under the sun for so long and no one else has come. Tina cannot understand why none of them would even take her calls but she would keep trying.
When Tina leaves to continue reaching them, Shade calls Chief to thank him for making her job easier it is happening the way he said it would happen.
Bara goes to see DP. She does not want to see him but allows him to come in. Bara informs her that he could not bring himself to say she was innocent because it would implicate his father but he kept faith in her. DP does not trust Bara anymore, he cannot do anything for her knowing who his father is.
Next on Brethren: Kofo yells at Bara on phone.
The commissioner gives Bara the go-ahead to shoot on sight the man they call the Face.
