'Unmarried' Recap: Season 1 Episode 9

In today's episode of Unmarried. Udoka wakes up to see Nengi working on her laptop. She has a presentation that is due on Thursday. Udoka tells her he really likes her because she is hardworking, fierce and smart. Nengi also likes him too so they are going back to what they were doing the night before.
Funbi wakes up from her very uncomfortable bed at her mum's place. Her mother is making breakfast for her daughter in the kitchen when Funbi enters. Her mother hands her the fried eggs and bread she made for her. Funbi thanks her but deep down she feels the food is tacky compared to her lasagne she normally gets for breakfast.

Before Nengi goes to work, Kamsi apologizes to Nengi for how she spoke to her the night before. Nengi also apologizes to her for talking to her about Lotanna like she did. No matter how she felt she shouldn't have spoken to her like that.

Back at the office, Nengi hands the report to Nosa and this time he wants her to be in the conference room with him to present it. Nosa knows the promotion should have gone to her and it is time for everyone to see how hardworking she is. Nengi thanks him.

Funbi is screaming into her phone for Chuka to switch on his phone she cannot keep staying in her mother's place. Her mother enters the parlor and wants her to open up to her on why she came to her house very late last night, she is her mother and she can tell her anything. Funbi tells her mother that Chuka broke up with her and kicked her out of the house now she has nowhere else to go too. Her mother comforts her, she is still alive so she does not have to cry.
Somto suggests to her sister to look for another man. She does not need to hang on to Lotanna again now that she is free. Kamsi is more interested in her baking business.
Nosa gives the floor to Nengi to lead the presentation. Nengi's boss asks Nosa why and he tells him it was her idea. Nengi is giving the presentation when Nosa's pregnant girlfriend comes in raining insults on Nengi. She is the reason why her man has not been to the house for some days, she should leave her man alone.

Funbi's mum is happy her daughter is back home now they can bond and catch up on lost time. Funbi is about to leave when her mother asks her for money so she can buy them something for dinner.
Funbi meets up with Kamsi. They do not know what it is about but Nengi called them for drinks. Nengi enters and informs them what happened to her at the office today. Nengi wants Kamsi to say I told you so but Kamsi is not about to kick her friend while she is down, rather she and Funbi comfort their friend. Nengi cannot understand why she has so much bad luck with men. First, it was Atonye now Udoka. While they are still talking Nosa enters. He reassures Nengi not to worry about the incident, people would be talking about something else by tomorrow. Nosa then buys them the next drink.

Nengi and Funbi are talking about Funbi's stay at her mother's place. Funbi is not used to staying with her mother again. Nengi thinks it is about the drinking by her mother told her she does not drink again.
Meanwhile, Kamsi and Nosa seem to be getting along just fine. Kamsi has to go home so Nosa offers to take her.
When Nosa and Kamsi get to the house, he tells her he has a connection with her and Kamsi feels the same way. Nosa and Kamsi kiss for a moment before Kamsi breaks it off, she has to go.

Funbi goes home to meet her mother drinking again and there is a man in the house. Her mother wants her to sleep with the man in the house but Funbi would not. Funbi would not allow her mother to pimp her out to one of her friends like she used to do in the past. Her mother insists she should not act like she does not know the thing, they are just the same. Funbi decides to do better, she would not allow her mother to take her down this lane again. All she did to her while she was growing up made her feel like she was not good enough but she knows now she is good enough. Funbi tells her mother that she is dead to her from now on.

Nengi goes home to see Udoka sitting on her couch. She wants him to get out of her house but Udoka begs her, he loves her and wants to be with her. He chose her. Nengi is not willing to hear him and his lies again so she insists he gets out. As Udoka leaves, Kamsi goes to hug her friend.
