Africa Magic Series "Brethren" Episode 1 Recap
The series kicks off on a dramatic note. There is an Unknown man running for his life in the bushes. Someone eventually hits him with a stick.
The man wakes up in a cage and is begging his boss. He swears he stabbed the man on his neck. The Boss plays a recording for him to hear, he did not do the job.
Information is brought to the Boss. His men sighted police officers at the location so they had to
move the little girl they kidnapped. The girl blindfolded and scared, she wants her daddy. The boss tells her she would get back with her dad if only he corporates. His men take the girl away while the boss attends to the other matter. He opens the cage of the unknown man and leaves. His dogs rush in after him to finish the job.
Dag is in his office with a girl having sex. Sir K and Amaka enter to tell him the dancers they got tonight are ready to show him what they got. Dag trusts them to handle it, he is opening the best night club in the city so he trusts their judgment. He is not sure if his brother would be joining them that's if he is not too busy chasing bad guys in the city.
Bara, Bassey and Jo are officers of the Special Criminal Unit (SCU). They chase down a criminal syndicate and arrest them. {The backup officers have a formation just like the ones we see in American S.W.A.T films}
Their plan for the two days off they get would start at Bara's brother's club tonight. Jo the female officer in the team says she would be there too.
Imabong's in-laws decide her fate. She killed their brother that's why she did not stay till the end of the burial before running away. They need to send people there to watch over his property. One of the late man's brothers decides he would call people to go their immediately. He steps out to call Imabong but she doesn't pick. He leaves her a text that his family is on the way. Imabong quickly packs her things and some documents and leave.
Bara and Bassey do tequila shots to all the girls they have loved. Dag the owner of the club comes to be with them. Bara gets lost staring at a lady by the corner. Before he gets the chance to meet her she leaves the party.
Amaka comes to tell Dag about an issue but he wants her to deal with it. He has his eyes on the girl that was earlier in his office. {I think Amaka is dying of jealousy}.
Bara comes back to complain about the lady. She just vanished into thin air. Jo enters the club looking different from the colleague they knew at work. She is dressed in a gown with makeup on, Bassey would not stop staring.{I think he is in love} Bara continues to laugh at him because it is still Jo their guy from the office.
Madam Sade is with the boys. Two amongst them are still hunting for investors in their new business plan. Sade wants them to be like Bidemi who has found a decent job. Madam Tina the owner of the center enters to inform Sade she has signed the documents she left on her desk. Now she wants to hear the business plan the boys have.
Dag goes with his father Chief Dr to the office. His father does not like the nightclub business he has going on even though his mother does not have a problem with it. Chief intends to get into the top ranking echelon of the Eko gentlemen's club this year and all the children of the men there have decent businesses. Why can't he be like his brother and do something different? {Wait until he shows you who he really is}
At the SCU Bara and Bassey return after their two days off is cut short. Bassey has all his mind on asking Jo out, she was looking very hot that night. He does not care if she is their guy or not he would ask her out.
Their Boss CSP Ogar enters and apologizes for cutting their break short. Erica Rando Ten years old daughter of the multi-millionaire was kidnapped. They have been assigned the case, he wants the girl alive.
Some street boys see Oga drive into the premises. They decide to burgle his car.
The boys head for the car with pliers and wire but are stopped and beaten by a rival group for territorial encroachment.
Bara and Bassey are able to get to the kidnappers. They rescue the girl but are arrested by ASP Usman Kura on CSP Iwara's orders.
Iwara and Ogar talk things out. Iwara says he would see to the suspension of his men. Iwara cannot do anything here because the commissioner is happy with their work. Iwara says his men might have escaped this but a day of reckoning is near. Iwara says his men are taking the prisoner for questioning.
Dag and Sir K talk about the turn out for the opening, it is really amazing. There is shooting everywhere in the club.
The police are ambushed by some men while trying to take the prisoner. The men pour them water with leaches in it then escape with the prisoner.
Next on Brethren: Chief is questioned by Otunba about his son, the one with the nightclub. There was a nasty incident there last night.
