AJOCHE EPISODE 260 RECAP
Epe gives Agaba the dynamites with instructions on how to use them. Agaba tells him that he and the Warriors have something to ask him first. Abutu comes out and Agaba asks Epe that does he remember Abutu his personal guard that went missing? Agaba tells him that Abutu told them that while he worked underground he would hear the foreigners talk about how he Epe had sold some of their warriors to the foreigners. Epe asks him and so what? Agaba tells him that he and other warriors here cannot continue to risk their lives for him when he would only sell them off. Agaba drops his spear and crosses over to the barricade with a few warriors joining him. The rest is about to join him when Epe lights up a stick of dynamite and throws it at them. Agaba and some warriors are all blown up, the rest of the Ocholuje warriors are too afraid to go over the barricade.
Elakeche, Eje, and Onnah are all hiding in a hut. They hear the sound from the explosive and know that it is the same as the one they heard from the evil forests sometime ago. Onnah decides to go out to know what is happening.
Oganya tells Oofuni that she has to leave Ocholuje that it is not safe for her here, she would be killed the moment they find her here. Oganya tells her that Akajo is looking for her and she offers to take her to where he is.
Apeh is able to walk up to the front of Epe's hut with the help of his stick where Odumu, Ekere, and Alechenu are hiding. Apeh smells someone is inside so he calls out Ashes {Alechenu} to come out and face him. Odumu rushes out and drops him on the floor while Ekere and Alechenu come out too. Odumu is hitting him and does not want to give him a quick death because he does not deserve it. Apeh is able to call out for help from Epe and the Ocholuje warriors. Alechenu, Odumu, and Ekere run away when Epe and his men come for them.
Apeh tells Epe that he still has a gun, the one he recovered from the shadow dancer. It does not have any bullets but Epe still has bullets because Onnah may have destroyed his weapons but did not know of the bullets just like the dynamites. Epe leaves his father on the ground and rushes into his hut to find the gun. Epe finds the gun and feels powerful again.
Alechenu, Ekere, and Odumu jump over the palace fence while Odumu is injured. Ekere admonishes Alechenu for missing on purpose to kill Epe with his arrow.
Epe begins to call Alechenu out and tells him that he would kill Elakeche if he does not come out. Alechenu goes out alone and asks him where Elakeche is? Epe tells him to come over to his side and see for himself. Elakeche comes out and tells Alechenu not to believe him. Epe gets upset seeing Elakeche with him and shoots at them but misses. Alechenu and Elakeche run to meet Ene and the rest of the men.
Epe is acting frantically like a madman and begins shouting at Alechenu to come out or he would begin to kill Ocholuje people. Epe orders his guards to bring the people. A woman and her baby are brought and Epe points a gun over her head and would shoot if Alechenu does not come out. Alechenu comes out alone to meet him. Ene and the rest of her men come out too and surround him. Ene tells him that she would rather have him as King than Epe.
Alechenu tells Epe to stop all these games and fight him because they both know it has nothing to do with the throne but it is because of him.
Oofuni asks Oganya if Akajo was angry when she told him that she made her lie to him. Oganya tells her that he was not angry but went to look for her as soon as he heard she was alive and with Apeh. Oofuni is so happy that Akajo is loyal to her that she starts to daydream out loud. She says Aleku would bless her with children that Akajo would be loyal to, more than Odaleko and Alechenu. This gets Oganya very angry and envious as she hears all of this.
The entire warriors and village women gather around in a circle for Epe and Alechenu to fight. Alechenu's choice of weapon is a mere stick and Epe picks the same. Apeh has Epe's gun and Ekere tells Epe that his father would get a knife if he tries to interfere in this fight.
Epe tells the people that they left him their one true king for Alechenu who is a foreigner and a usurper who has been trying to steal the throne from him all this while. Alechenu tells Epe and everyone that he killed the king along with his father and would sometimes cover up for his father as he did unspeakable things just so he can clear the part to the throne for him. Alechenu is still talking when Epe attacks him from behind with his stick. Alechenu is still able to overpower Epe and drops him on the floor. Alechenu does not want to kill him so he walks away from him. Epe picks Alechenu's bow and shoots at him. Alechenu catches the first arrow with his hand and the second one hits a warrior by the side. Alechenu runs out of the pitch and Epe goes after him with the bow and arrow.
Epe trails Alechenu to Onnah's hut. He is calling Alechenu to come out because he knew he would run back here. Alechenu comes out and hits him with a clay pot. Epe is on the ground and Alechenu tells him that he cheated, he has always been a cheat since they were little. They begin to fight until they run into Elakeche's old room.
Oganya asks Oofuni why she did not kill Apeh when she had the chance. Oofuni tells her that it was because of the guard that was there, he would not stop obeying Apeh's orders until Abutu came by and convinced him. Oganya tells her that yet she would have still killed him even if it meant her death. Oganya cannot understand when Oofuni began to fear death. Oofuni asks her if she is okay because she is sounding off. At this point Oofuni sees Akajo approaching and is distracted. Oganya hits her with a stone on her head, covers her mouth then stabs her on the side. Oganya tells her that she understands why she could not forgive Ocholuje people for what they did to her people. She could not forgive her for what she did to her daughter, she tried to forgive her but could not. She still has her hand over Oofuni's mouth when Akajo comes to meet them. What have you done Oganya?
Alechenu and Epe fight in the room and again Alechenu overpowers Epe. He stops himself from strangling Epe to his death and just sits on the bed with him. Epe picks up the knife he had and is about to stab Alechenu but stops himself too. They both sit there till it gets dark. Epe gets up and walks out of the hut to meet Eje, Onnah, and Ekere waiting outside. He walks past them and goes to the palace.
General Apeh is there waiting for him with some other guards. Epe comes in and tells all the guards to leave him and his father alone and should tell all the people in the palace to also leave. Apeh asks him if it is done and Epe tells him that it is done, they are done. Epe picks up the remaining to the explosives and tells his father that all he has done was not for him but for himself alone. If he wanted the throne so bad he would have sat on it himself. Epe pushes his father to sit on the throne while he holds him down on the throne, Epe lights up the dynamites and tells him that this is the only way to end both of them. Boom! there goes the palace as well as Epe and General Apeh.
The next day. Elakeche goes to meet Alechenu and tells him he needs to take a break. They both sit down to talk and Elakeche asks him how he is? Alechenu tells her that he is tired. They have both lost people but he misses Akum. He is still sad about Akum, he was ready to be a good husband to her. Elakeche tells him that Akum died protecting her when Apeh wanted to kill her. Elakeche tells him that they were friends in a way and that they both loved him. Alechenu tells her that he is still mourning his wife. She says to him that he can take his time, she would be here for him they both are not going anywhere. Elakeche tells him that Akum always tried to convince her not to let all that has happened to her stop her from living the life she always wanted to live before all of this happened, Akum would have wanted that for him now. They both join their heads together to comfort themselves. Ene comes with a smile on her face and tells them not to get distracted, they have a lot of cleaning to do.
Emiene and Eje are walking along the market when Emiene tells him that they are going to be parents. Eje is so excited.
Obeyi has been brought see Oofuni while Akajo and Onnah watch them talk. Oofuni is dying but tells Obeyi that a small stab on her stomach cannot get rid of her like that, she is the mistress of poison. They talk about when they first came to Onnah's shrine. Obeyi and Onnah leave the room to give Oofuni and Akajo some privacy.
Akajo goes to his love and asks her how she is doing. From the look in his face, Oofuni can tell that she does not have any more time left, it was the same look he had when Odaleko died. With her last breath, she tells him that it was his fault because if she was not so distracted thinking of him she would have seen what Oganya was planning. She tells him not to be said that now she can be with her people and would be able to carry her son. Oofuni knows that he would be quick. They both hug and kiss for the last time and in that embrace, Akajo crosses his hands together so tight that she takes her last breath on his arms. Oofuni did look good dead though. Akajo screams out loud as he sees her lying on the ground. The only woman that loved him.
Alechenu and Onnah look at the ruins of the palace yet the throne still remained standing. Alechenu has so many questions. As an undying does it mean he would never die? Onnah tells him that he had to leave long enough to fulfill the prophecy and he may live to become immortal. The people seem to think that everything would magically change ones he sits on the throne. Onnah tells him that he thinks all would be just fine when he sits on the throne.
Eje, Emiene, and Akajo are talking when Oganya comes running to them that the Nigeria people are here and they are with guns. Akajo holds Oganya's neck and asks her why? The Nigerian leader tells him that they want to speak to whoever is in charge here. The language barrier makes them not understand him so he demonstrates in sign language.
Akajo takes them to meet Alechenu, Ekere, and Odumu as they are talking. The leader tells Alechenu that they meet again. Adoga came to tell them that there is war in his village and they needed their help. He wants to know who mutilated Adoga. The Nigerian men have a gun pointed at Alechenu. Alechenu tells them and all the villagers that people have tried to kill him by several means and even yesterday more times than he can remember. If the man wants to kill him then he should go ahead and do it. They can stay and enjoy their hospitality or leave but they have work to do. Alechenu turns and walks towards the throne. The Nigerian leader is angry that Alechenu walked out on him and shoots at him. Alechenu falls seated on the throne and holding the staff of office. At that point, the throne begins to blossom again, the Aleku tree starts to bring out branches.

Hey, thanks for this. I watched the show for 2weeks the last time I went to 9ja in march, and I was searching for a site to follow up and found yours. It was well written and I felt like I was watching it on TV.

ReplyDeleteThank you. we would work on it
DeleteNICE ONE
DeleteNice one just that i did not like the fact that Alechenu died. it was devastating to see such a promising young man die when he all believed that he was the untouchable.
ReplyDeleteAlechenu did not die. They shot at him he sat on the throne holding the staff as a result of the shot and the throne started to blossom again and the Aleku tree started growing branches. Alechenu according to the story is immortal
DeleteNot happy that Alechenu died. Not a good ending.

It's one of the best Nigerian movies I've seen in recent time. Really love the movie. But don't like how it ended. Many people felt Alichenu died as a result of the gun shot. Because the end result wasn't well expressed.
ReplyDeleteNice narrative!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully written, well detailed narrative... thanks so much I travelled and missed the final episodes.
