HAPPINESS IS NOT FREE
There is this widespread notion that says 'you don't pay to be happy'. People have bought into this idea that happiness is free so you don't get to pay for it. This much is true because happiness streams from a desire to be happy and that desire is a choice you alone can make.
However, the idea that happiness is free seems to be far from the truth. You have to pay to be truly happy, and it cost a lot more than you think. Happiness comes with an expensive price tag and until you make up your mind to pay that expensive price, then you begin to have true happiness.
When you go into
a store, you see this very sexy dress that you want so much but the price tag is the exact amount as all you have got in your account. You know buying that dress would definitely leave you broke, but you want to have that dress. So you work up to the cashier, and you don't negotiate to reduce the price of the dress, you just go ahead and pay for that dress. Grinning from cheek to cheek as you walk out the store. Getting that dress against all odds! that's what purchasing true happiness feels like.
When you are ready to trade in those friends that only put you down, that relationship that keeps you sad at night, that boyfriend or girlfriend that does not forget to put their hands on you, that spouse that keeps putting your life at risk because they cannot see past themselves, that father or mother that had other important things other than being in your life, that job you do not like but has succeeded in taking over your entire life or your angry boss that nothing ever pleases. Then you're ready to buy happiness.
Happiness would cost you money. Yes as much as money cannot buy you happiness, it can buy you those things that make you happy.
Happiness would cost you, your time. If you're not ready to spend your time doing the things that make you happy then your not even close to wanting true happiness.
Happiness would cost you your mindset. Your brain has to be channeled to be happy. Without that, you would never understand when you are happy or not. You have to remind yourself every day to make yourself happy.
Happiness is not negotiable. You can't negotiate your happiness darling, it is priceless. When you are seated considering how everyone but yourself would feel before you decide to be happy then you are negotiating your happiness.
Whoever said happiness is free is not experiencing true happiness. Until you realize that you have to pay a price to be truly happy, then you have purchased the right to be happy and no one can take that away from you.
